Finished Product

Here are pictures of our pottery we painted last week.

Science Center

Yesterday the girls and I went to the science center. We now have a pass so can go as much as we want throughout the year. We did not even get through the whole place because the small kids area was so much fun for the girls. We also went to the I Max movie about dolphins. They loved it, but throughout the movie Bella kept saying where did the whales go and I would correct her and the next sentence out of her mouth would be something about the whales. We'll keep working on that......

Put on your Sunday best Kids...We're going to Sears!

Sunday we went to Sears to finally get a new grill. We went all last summer without one and just couldn't fight the urge for this summer. The girls found something to pass time while we paid. They thought they would try out some treadmills.....I am thinking they were a little confused on how to use them!!!!

Painting

Today the girls and I went to Glazed Expressions for some pottery painting. After much deliberation by Emma and Bella they finally picked out what they were going to paint.........Bella picked out a kitty she named Milo and Emma picked out a puppy she named Roxy. I know original names right??? I picked out a plate to make our new celebration plate. This means the plate will be used when someone in the family has something to celebrate they will get to have supper on the plate. I explained this to the girls and they were so excited. Emma took her time and did a great job painting her puppy I was so proud of her. Bella on the other hand lost concentration really fast. I now realize that this was probably a field trip I should have done with just Emma. I also realized that I am not a painter I really wish I would have got some of my Grandma Murphy's painting genes.

Family Shower

Saturday afternoon Emma, Bella and I went to a wedding shower for Sara Prichard our cousin. The girls always love when we have an excuse to get together with their cousins. They played all afternoon during the shower and had so much fun.

Dance Pictures

Dance pictures for Emma were Saturday. I had to convince her to go to sleep Friday night with curlers in her hair......not an easy task. I decided that bribes work for everything else why not for this. I told her that if she slept in the curlers she could sleep in mommy and daddy's bed. I managed to get her to sleep wtih only taking one of the curlers out and then I went to sleep in her bed so I could get a good nights sleep. Her hair turned out great, but her attitude was a different story!! We got to the dance studio and it was her turn to get pictures and she would not smile for anything. So she has dance pictures with no smile. I went ahead and ordered some so when she is older I can make sure she knows this is how she acted.

R.I.P Goldie

We had quite the week this week with a fish named Goldie. Grandma Kathy bought Goldie for Emma and Bella on Tuesday night. They were so excited to finally get a fish, Emma had been asking to get one for months. We put Goldie in a glass fish bowl Grandma Kathy found at he house and sat her on the counter. I guess we forgot about our cat named Milo and the love/hate relationship cats have with fish. About midnight Ben and I awoke to a crash. Milo had knocked the fish bowl off the counter and it shattered all over the floor. In his bare feet Ben went across the floor not thinking about the glass all over it to do a daring rescue of Goldie. He found Milo batting Goldie back and forth on the wood floor by the front door. We were able to rescue the fish and put her in a bowl I found in the kitchen with a cookie sheet as a lid and a new big bottle of ketchup sitting on top. Goldie mad it through her traumatic night so I decided to get her a new home. We picked out a plastic home with a roof for Goldie. She was happy in the home, but when we went to the park on Thursday and came back she was dead. The girls were devastated. We had a quick good bye and flushed her down the toilet. Now when Bella goes potty she says she is peeing on Goldie!

Finally we see Giraffes!!!!

We ventured back to the zoo last week as the girls were very disappointed last time we went that the Giraffes were not out of their winter hibernation. I was crossing my fingers that they would not be disappointed again. We walked into the zoo went past the monkey's or as Emma likes the real names of the animals now "Japanese Macaws" we spotted the spots.........Giraffes!!!! They couldn't have been happier until we got to the Giraffe area and then we saw it the Zebra cage was still empty. So what was to be a great day turned into mediocre because of the lack of Zebras at the Zoo.

What we have been up to.....

It has been a while since I posted so here is an update. Since it has been so nice out and such a long winter the girls and I have been outside as much as possible. We take walks during the day and usually hit one or both of the parks by our house. After one of the longest winters I can remember we are appreciating the warm weather and will not be taking any nice day for granted this spring and summer.

Ben and I booked our first 2011 trip which will be a cruise on Carnival out of Miami to Grand Turk, Nassau, and a private island. The girls will be staying in Naples with Grandma and Grandpa Bruins while we are on the cruise and they are so excited that Emma has packed the essentials (stuffed animals) already. They also play pretend that they are going to FL, Emma pretends to drive the car and they pack their suitcases and play the radio for some music on the long "drive" to FL. We will be going on the cruise with Paul and Lindsey Keller and maybe Jason and Stacy Blomgren.

Ben has been working, working, working.......hopefully all this work and time away from us will pay off. He seems happy to be in his new Vice President role (even if it is the same duties he really likes the title!)

Next week I have plans to start getting the camper ready for the fast approaching camping season. The girls are also very excited about camping season and talk about it all the time. We are just hoping that Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Mike find a boat to add to the fun of camping.

Hopefully I can keep up the the blog these upcoming months..we have weddings, showers, dance recitals, first communions, etc..... busy months ahead and we love every minute of it!!

Curls

Here is pictures of Emma and Bella in curlers. I have tried to practice doing Emma's hair for her dance recital and pictures and we have failed both times I tried it. She may look a little off if she does not match the rest of the class. Hopefully I can pull it off pictures are next weekend.

Easter Baskets

The Easter Bunny was so good to the girls.....for some reason he/she always goes a little overboard!!!

New Studio Pics

I took Emma and Bella to Target to get their pictures taken in the Easter dresses I bought. They turned out sooo cute!

Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma's House

Here are the pictures of the Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma Tomlinson's house. The kids had a blast and of course got way too much candy.
